Bio

Dr Viral Parekh's research interest lies in the field of galaxy clusters and superclusters, mainly to detect faint and diffuse radio sources (halos, relics, mini-halos, and radio bridges). Currently, he is working on newer 3rd generation (3GC) direction-dependent calibration techniques for MeerKAT data in order to improve the image quality and reduce the rms background noise. Using MeerKAT, he has observed one of the largest and massive Saraswati Supercluster core regions and made the deepest radio images of two centrally located massive galaxy clusters. Apart from this, he is also working on detecting faint and diffuse radio ridges between galaxy clusters in newer MeerKAT data.
