Applications for 2026 funding are now closed. New projects for 2027 will be announced in the first half of 2026. Some of the projects listed below have been taken, others will be re-listed for the next funding call.
Postgraduate funding instruments available to RATT are typically restricted to citizens of South Africa and the SKA Africa partner countries (Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zambia). Citizens of other countries are thus not eligible for funding, unless specifically noted on a per-project basis below.
Academically suitable candidates with their own funding sources, as well as self-funded students, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If this is you, then please contact the supervisor(s) to discuss a project.
